DETAIL ORIENTED HIP-HOP DANCE AND BALLET CLASSES IN WHEATON, MD
Discover the perfect class for your sway and style when you choose Wheaton Studio of Dance. Our center in Wheaton, Maryland, hosts a wide variety of classes that are perfect for everyone, including hip-hop dance and ballet classes.
Combination
Our Combination Classes are primarily designed for younger dancers. In it, classes are comprised of approximately 25 minutes of ballet followed by a 10-minute gymnastics session and 25 minutes of tap.
Ballet (Lower Intermediate and Intermediate)
The next step out of combination classes comes into full ballet classes. Both of these courses build technique and introduce new terms into the students' ballet vocabulary. These classes are more basic, but they cover a wide variety of steps, technique skills, and placements.
Ballet (Lower Advanced and Advanced)
Students who enroll in our lower advanced and advanced classes are expected to know the basics of ballet structure. These basics include position, step, and vocabulary. In addition, our advanced classes work at a faster pace, and have more challenging barre and center exercises.
Tap (Beginner and Intermediate)
Our beginner and intermediate tap classes focus on the students more than the dance. This prepares younger dancers, helping them get used to the style and feel of tap.
Tap (Advanced)
Our advanced tap classes introduce more intricate techniques, steps, and combinations. In this class, participants are more attuned to certain rhythms and can use their feet to translate the beat.
Hip-Hop (Beginner and Experienced)
No dance experience is necessary to sign up for our beginner hip-hop class. This is a fun and energizing way to express music through dance moves, and comes highly recommended for those who are interested in dance with attitude.
Hip-Hop (Advanced)
Focusing more on the precision of the style, our advanced classes are aimed towards students who are ready for more difficult styles and techniques. Please note that advanced competition classes are applicable by audition only.
Jazz (Beginner, Experienced, and Intermediate)
The younger levels of jazz focus on building strength and technique within the jazz style. This allows students to experience many different types of jazz, as well as improve their strength and flexibility.
Jazz (Advanced)
Certain techniques and steps are required to participate in the advanced jazz class. As such, these classes tend to be more difficult and faster paced. In it, we practice endurance, flexibility, and technique skills in addition to techniques.
Zumba
Zumba is a fusion of Latin and International music with easy-to-follow moves. This creates a one-of-a-kind fitness program that requires no experience to get started.
